Description

Extreme Dancesport Teacher Academy (EDTA) was created by co-owner and head teacher of Extreme Dancesport, Helle Rusholt, to ensure high excellence in partner dance instruction. This extensive teacher training program is one of its kind in Massachusetts and offered exclusively at at Extreme Dancesport. In the past, teaching dance was limited to professional ballroom dancers with years and years of dance training and competition backgrounds. Now it's finally available to adults who have a passion for dance and those who are considering a career as a dance teacher. Even seasoned dance professionals who want to further develop their career as a dance teacher have greatly benefited from this program.

In this program, you will learn:

• 17 dances of the DVIDA Bronze American Syllabus for Smooth, Rhythm, and Night Club dances and how to teach them
• To dance as both Leader and Follower
• Technical elements of all the dances
• Musical elements of all the dances
• How to teach private and group lessons
• How to prepare for DVIDA certification

*DVIDA (Dance Vision International Dance Association) is a member of the National Dance Council of America (NDCA), which is the governing organization for Ballroom Dancing in the United States. DVIDA certification is highly recognized and sought after in the United States by dance studios boosting your potential for employment and giving you the opportunity to demand a higher salary.

Additional Benefits
Your tuition entitles you not only to the EDTA course itself, but also to most of the classes and workshops offered at Extreme Dancesport. You get free entry into group classes and workshops (where you are required to fill in as leader or follower as needed), and free floor time for practice at the studio. Please be advised that visiting or outside coach workshops are not free to EDTA students.

Employment Opportunities
The Extreme Dancesport Studio offers Teacher Trainees opportunities to assist classes and frequently offers teaching positions to top graduates of the EDTA program based on the needs of the studio at that time.
