Maxim
Kozhevnikov has indeed taken the U.S. and world
ballroom dancing community by storm. Since coming
to the U.S., he has placed highly in every
competition entered. Since 2002, he has had the
distinguished title of Grand Finalist, being a
finalist at all the most prestigious world events,
including Blackpool, the U.K., World, and other
International companionships. Since 2005, he has
been winning major titles all over the world,
including being a WDC World Professional Latin
Showdance Champion in 2005 and 2006 (Italy and
Moscow respectively). After receiving acclaim the
world over, he was invited to create a line of
instructional DVDs by DanceVision. In 2007, with
his partner, he ranked 4th in the world for
Professional International Latin by the WDC ranking
awards in Tokyo, Japan.
In
addition to competitions, Maxim has been sought
after the world over for countless professional
shows and performances. Some noteworthy events
include being invited for three consecutive years
to Night of 100 Stars, the World Championship among
other events. Many such events have also been
televised in the U.S., U.K., Russia and other
countries.
Because of his continued success, Maxim has truly achieved both fame and respect from various ballroom organizations, adjudicators, his peers and his students. Beginning in 2002, Max has taught students from a wide array of backgrounds, including social dancers, ice skaters, professional and amateur competitors and more. Since that same time he has also taught lectures, seminars and workshops all over the world, most notably at the Blackpool Congress in 2006 and 2007. He was also invited to coach the U.S. Latin formation team competing at Blackpool in 2007. Many of his students have gone on to win numerous championships and scholarships both in the U.S. and in other countries.
